Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree (or local equivalent), preferably in accounting.
- Preferred education -- Masters degree (or local equivalent), preferably in accounting or finance.
- 0 -1 year of relevant work experience in accounting or finance is required, preferred experience includes accounting applications such as PeopleSoft.
- Good written and oral communications skills in English are required.
- Progress towards a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification issued by local area professional licensing body is preferred.
Job Description :
The Accountant I - Finance (AIF) role is accountable to deliver useable, accurate and timely financial information from the point of transaction through to financial close and external reporting period (month, quarter, and annual). The individual in this role may be called upon to support a particular legal entity, line of business, region, or accounting process, as assigned, for any Record to Report (R2R) process from the point of transaction through to the close, consolidation, and financial reporting of business outcomes for enterprise BNYM. S/he provides support for the end to end Record to Report accounting processes, required to transform data into information for reporting purposes. This includes: processing of basic general ledger events and transactions, as assigned; assist in identifying exceptions and analysis of exceptions; and providing support to the department for R2R activities such as audits, the fulfillment of ad hoc requests, and other special project activities, as assigned.
