Job Description
All the work under the mission projects is released under Open Source. Consequently most of the tools and software environment used in Ekalavya R&D, are also from Open Source Software(OSS). Interns will thus be working on Ubuntu (a variant of Linux), and using Java, Python, MYSQL/Postgress, GCC, open source flash, android IDE and other such packages. Even if you do not have adequate exposure to these, you will get ample opportunity to learn them during your internship. All we expect is that you are able to learn fast, and are able to meaningfully use what you learn.
Eligibility :
- Students graduating in Computer Science/Engineering, IT, or Electronics.
- Who will be completing 3rd year in April/May 2014. Students completing 2nd year, with exceptional academic performance and other achievements may also be considered.
- Students with experience in programming will be preferred.
- Streams: Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology
Additional Information :
Internship and stay at IIT Bombay involves some expenditure to be incurred by interns. The approximate amounts are:
- Rs. 6000/- to be paid to the IIT Bombay academic office (Internship Fee's)
- Hostel room rent of Rs 1100/- per month or part thereof (totalling Rs 2200/- for the internship period)
- Additional Rs 20/- per day if you wish to rent a mattress + bucket
- Approximately Rs 100/- per day for food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) in the vacation mess
About the Company:
Ekalavya (Sanskrit: एकलव्य, éklavya) is a character from the Hindu epic, the Mahābhārata. He was a young prince of the Nishadha, a confederation of jungle tribes in Ancient India. Ekalavya aspired to study archery in the gurukul of Guru Dronacharya (Drona), the greatest known teacher in the use of weaponry and martial art knowledge at the time. He was son of Vyatraj Hiranyadhanus, a talented soldier in the army of King of Magadha. Magadha was ruled by Jarasandha, who was at odds with the Kingdom of Hastinapura.Jarasandh was killed by Bheem(the second pandav) in mallya yuddha later on. But Bheem did it with the help of lord Krishna.
